KJV Translation: 6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. 7 Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity. 8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting. 1901 ASV Translation: 6 who gave himself a ransom for all; the testimony to be borne in its own times; 7 whereunto I was appointed a preacher and an apostle (I speak the truth, I lie not), a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth. 8 I desire therefore that the men pray in every place, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and disputing. Textual Notes: There is one variation between the Textus Receptus and the Nestle/Aland 26 in verse 7: the Textus Receptus has the phrase "in Christ", which the Nestle/Aland 26 does not have. This introduces only a very slight change in emphasis in regard to the nature of the "truth" Paul wrote and has almost no influence on his meaning in that he has already established the fact that the "truth" is "in Jesus".
